Reduced Hall carrier density in the overdoped strange metal regime of cuprate superconductors

چکیده

Efforts to understand the microscopic origin of superconductivity in cuprates are dependent on knowledge normal state. The Hall number low-temperature, high-field limit nH(0) has a particular importance because, within conventional transport theory, it is simply related charge carriers, so its evolution with doping gives crucial information about nature transport. Here we report study coefficient single-layer Tl2Ba2CuO6+δ (Tl2201) and (Pb/La)-doped Bi2Sr2CuO6+δ (Bi2201), which shows how evolves overdoped—so-called strange metal—regime cuprates. We find that increases smoothly from p 1 + p, where holes doped into parent insulating state, over wide range doping. nH correlates emergence anomalous linear-in-temperature term low-temperature in-plane resistivity. results could suggest quasiparticle decoherence extends dopings well beyond pseudogap regime. A thallium- bismuth-based demonstrates smooth this quantity range.

Quantum disordered regime and spin gap in the cuprate superconductors.

We discuss the crossover from the quantum critical, z =1, to the quantum disordered regime in high-Tc materials in relation to the experimental data on the nuclear relaxation, bulk susceptibility, and inelastic neutron scattering. In our scenario, the spin excitations develop a gap ∆∼1/ξ well above Tc, which is supplemented by the quasiparticle gap below Tc. The above experiments yield consiste...

Pinning of dynamic spin-density-wave fluctuations in cuprate superconductors

We present a theory of the pinning of dynamic spin-density-wave ~SDW! fluctuations in a d-wave superconductor by local imperfections that preserve spin-rotation invariance, such as impurities or vortex cores. The pinning leads to static spatial modulations in spin-singlet observables, while the SDW correlations remain dynamic: these are the ‘‘Friedel oscillations’’ of a spin-gap antiferromagnet...

Correlations between fluctuating orders in the pseudogap regime of the cuprate superconductors

We extend recent low temperature analyses of competing orders in the cuprate superconductors to the pseudogap regime where all orders are fluctuating. A universal continuum limit of a classical Ginzburg-Landau functional is used to characterize fluctuations of the superconducting order: this describes the crossover from Gaussian fluctuations at high temperatures to the vortex physics near the o...

Spectral measurement of the Hall angle response in normal state cuprate superconductors.

We measure the temperature and frequency dependence of the complex Hall angle for normal state YBa(2)Cu(3)O(7) films from dc to far-infrared frequencies (20-250 cm(-1)) using a new modulated polarization technique. We determine that the functional dependence of the Hall angle on scattering does not fit the expected Lorentzian response. We find spectral evidence supporting models of the Hall eff...
